Switch from BT
How to switch from BT to G.Network
At G.Network, we’re installing brand new, fibre optic connections directly to the people of London. This means our broadband is totally independent from BT. If you’re thinking of switching, you could have both services running at the same time, and you might not even have to pay for both contracts.
1) Order your G.Network full fibre broadband online
After you've placed your order, one of our team will be in touch to arrange a survey and an installation date to make sure you won’t experience any down time.
2) If you’re in contract with BT, you can still switch
You can switch to G.Network today and pay nothing until your current BT contract ends*. Just choose our Buy Out product, let us know how long you have left on your current BT contract, and we’ll give you free G.Network broadband until your BT contract ends.
3) Find your BT contract end date
Log in to the MyBT account portal
Select “My Orders” from the Support menu
Select your current broadband contract and select “Show contract terms”
Your contract details, including your contract end date should be listed under “Contract Terms”.
Screenshot this, including your name. You might want to remove other personal details such as your phone number and bank details.
Send it to us in an email, with your full name and G.Network order number to buyout@g.network
4) Give cancellation notice to your service with BT
When your G.Network service is up and running, you can cancel your contract with BT. Doing this will make sure that you don’t experience any down time.
Like many other providers, you’re required to give BT 30 days’ notice before moving on if you’re still within your commitment period. It’s likely you’ll need to pay for the remainder of your contract. But don’t worry, your G.Network service will be free until your BT contract ends, as long as you’ve chosen our Buy Out option.
You can also check if you can cancel without these fees. For example, if you’ve experienced extremely slow broadband, had price rises mid-contract or if you have complaints about the service.
If your BT package includes other services like movies or sports channels, check to see if you can keep them – they’ll probably work with G.Network too.
