Our guide to choosing your Home Broadband.
What is the installation process?
We’re building a better connected London for Londoners. That means our fibre network is already very close to your home.
Once your order is placed we may need to carry out a survey of your building first and get the necessary permissions to install our fibre in your home. This ensures the best possible route for our fibre for the best possible speeds.
One of our Connections Advisors will give you a call to let you know what the next steps are.
This installation process is straightforward and will involve drilling a small hole to bring the fibre cable into your home and connecting our router next to the nearest socket. Here’s a simple installation guide so you (and your landlord if you have one) know what to expect. We’ll then get you up and running, clear up and be on our way.
How do I choose the best package for me?
There are many different things to consider when trying to choose the correct broadband package for your home. The most important things to keep in mind are the speed, usage and the cost of the package.
As a general rule we’d recommend:
- 0-30mb (1-2 per household)
- 30-60mb (3+ users per household)
- 60-100mb (serious streaming household)
- 100mb or higher (working with large files and downloads)
What’s the difference between fibre and full fibre?
Standard ‘Fibre’, or ‘fibre-to-cabinet’ broadband, describes a connection where the fibre cables only go as far as the nearest street cabinet. The final part from the cabinet to your home uses older telephone network copper cables which are slow and inefficient. The further your house is from the cabinet, the slower it gets.
‘Full Fibre’, or ‘fibre-to-home’ broadband, only uses the fibre optic cables, which are more efficient than slower copper cables. There is no copper anywhere in our network - resulting in speeds of up to 1GB, which is up to 13x faster than the UK’s average download speed.

Out of contract monthly cost* is derived from the price a new customer would be charged from the month immediately following the end of the contract, and is based on publicly available information.
Additional Cost vs. G.Network** is derived from the total contract costs of providers using a pounds & pence price increase policy, or with a fixed price policy. The total contract costs include the monthly rental price, any upfront fees and annual price increases. The 'Total Cost over 24m' for providers without a fixed "Pounds & Pence” price rise policy does not consider price rises in the calculation.
