G.Network welcomes Vanessa Wilmot as Chief People Officer.

Welcome to Vanessa Wilmot, who’s joined G.Network as Chief People Officer.

Vanessa joins us from Balfour Beatty, where she held two Head of HR roles and was a member of two Executive teams. Most recently, Vanessa was Head of HR for Balfour Beatty Rail, an infrastructure business employing around 2,000 full-time employees and a large supply chain as part of a £400 million per annum business. She led the People strategy and sat on the Rail Strategy steering committee, while also leading on the People workstreams. Vanessa was responsible for shaping and leading the people agenda to deliver transformational performance and organisational health. 

Before this, Vanessa held a number of roles at BT over 14 years; both in the capacity of Senior HR Business Partner but also as a Performance and Change Lead. Her last role before joining Balfour Beatty was with Openreach as Senior Leadership, Talent & Diversity Manager, an organisation with over 30,000 employees UK wide.

Vanessa is a MBA-qualified senior HR leader with over 17 years’ experience in the UK, Ireland, USA and Europe. As an Executive Coach, she is passionate about developing people. Vanessa has a strong a strong focus on EDI, Leadership and Talent Development, while also ensuring that the HR function she is responsible for is seen as enablers and trusted advisers.
