Boom / IPAF Operator
This presents an excellent development opportunity for a Field Engineer to gain exposure, and professional training/certification, to progress in our newly formed BOOM team.
The Boom team will operate within our current live footprint alongside the installation team.&nbsp; The role will consist primarily of supporting installation teams where working at height is too hazardous for more traditional means such as ladders.&nbsp; The team will be working on a variety of retrospective work, future dated work and live jobs throughout the day - it's a varied role where you can learn new skills, gain new qualifications, and further advance your career prospects in the field.
What you&rsquo;ll do
<ul>
<li>Being able to drive and maintain a truck mounted Boom within London</li>
<li>Ownership of vehicle appearance and presentation ensuring it is clean and damage free at all times.</li>
<li>Willingness to meet tight deadlines</li>
<li>Assisting installation teams with daily duties</li>
<li>Be competent in cable installation on external walls</li>
<li>Be proficient with installation of containment on external walls</li>
<li>Comfortable to work on installation task without installers on site in a remedial function, for works that have been run in without the use of a boom.</li>
<li>Attend up to 4 individual installs across London per day to work only on the external cable run at height.</li>
<li>Proficient operating the boom arm of the vehicle safely and ensure the is no damage to public or private property</li>
<li>Act as groundsman for colleague to utilise boom as and when required</li>
<li>Fill out and ensure all daily risk assessments, vehicle checks, boom and harness checks are completed. Flagging any defects and/or damages as they occur with the Boom, Truck or tools.</li>
<li>Able to complete documentation of works carried out</li>
<li>Able to question and edit any NRSWA confidently without reducing the safety and efficiency of the site</li>
<li>Ensuring site is clean and safe once works are complete</li>
<li>Being reactive to calls on the day for emergency/last minute works.</li>
<li>Clear handover of truck mounted boom if passing to another driver/operator if going on annual leave.</li>
<li>Managing a small stock of containment pieces (like catenary wire), tools and cable to ensure works are competed as required.</li>
<li>Being willing to pick up additional duties (e,g, installation jobs or surveying jobs) at times of low boom requirements or high install workload.</li>
